Niskayuna Soccer Club Announces U12 and above Tryouts

(u10 and U8 will be in September)

All tryouts are to be held at Zenner Rd.

Tryout Session 1:

Please make every effort to show up for both Tryout sessions at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned time.  All tryouts will be held at Zenner Rd.  If you have a school, another sport, or family conflict, please contact Tony Muller, Tryout Coordinator at (apmuller13@msn.com ) as soon as possible.  This year we will have 2 assistant Tryout Coordinators.  One will be assigned to the oversee the boys teams and the other will be assigned to oversee the girls teams.

The format for tryouts will be:

• Several timed events, i.e., cone dribble, shuttle run, 50 yard dash, etc.
• A series of 3 vs. 3 scrimmages will be played where evaluators will note technical, as well as tactical skills.
• 6 vs. 6 or larger scrimmages may also be played if time allows.
• Whenever possible, the lead coach for the age group will observe the 3 vs. 3 play and other tryout activities, and give guidance to player ranking and team assignment.
• Coaches from the current season will be asked for comments about their current team that might help with the placements. Such comments might include attendance, “coach-ability”, ability to play goalie, or other attributes that will assist in determining the most appropriate placement for the 2011-2012 season.

Please Note the following important information :

• On-line Registration must be completed prior to tryouts.

• You do NOT need to be a resident of Niskayuna to play on the teams. See website for more details.

Those desiring to play for “A” team should pay careful attention to page 5, so they understand the higher commitment level that is expected of “A” team members.
